Greetings from The Diplomatic Drift,
The world is always shifting and drifting from what it was the day before. It is imperative that this is shared on a regular basis in order to keep up with these changes and bring to light the good and the bad that occurs beyond the boundaries of our own existence.
That is our mission here at The Diplomatic Drift. To focus on drifts in the global political landscape.
Who are we?
A non-partisan publisher of op-eds, analyses, historical reviews, and dispatches about drifts in foreign policy.
Op-Eds: A shorter piece with a strong argumentative focus meant to express an opinion on an issue. ~ 1,000 – 1,500 words
Analyses: An in-depth analysis of a policy, action, or event in foreign policy. ~ 1,500 – 2,000 words
Historical Reviews: Pieces aimed at explaining the timeline and/or process in which a specific relationship, policy, or action proliferated over time. ~ 2,000 – 4,000 words
Dispatch: A timely analysis of a recent event for a quick and informative read. ~ 500 – 750 words
What do we focus on?
The Diplomatic Drift is not limited to a sole topic pertaining to international relations. It focuses on a plethora of topics such as economics, security, and diplomacy.
We divide these issues geographically:
- North America
- Latin America
- Asia
- Europe
- Africa
- The Middle East
- The Arctic
- Island Nations
We then label our pieces by issue areas:
- Power and Security
- Global Governance and Diplomacy
- Economy and Development
- Climate and Environment
- Global Health
- Technology
- Values and Human Rights
What is our goal?
To educate the public on key issue areas that threaten the welfare of the world, such as the environment, conflict, trade, diplomacy, energy, and human rights.
We believe that the first step in allowing leaders, policymakers, and civilians to make the proper decisions to maintain global order, is by educating to understand.
